FRENCH FOOTBALL MANAGER Gerard Houllier, who won the Uefa Cup, FA Cup and League Cup with Liverpool, has died aged 73, a number of his former clubs said Monday.
Paris Saint-Germain and Lens first confirmed the death of Houllier, who managed Liverpool from 1998 to 2004. In a statement on Twitter, the Premier League champions later said: “We are mourning the passing of our treble-winning manager, Gerard Houllier.
“The thoughts of everyone at Liverpool Football Club are with Gerard’s family and many friends.
“Rest in peace, Gerard Houllier 1947-2020.”
Houllier was also France national team manager from 1992 to 1993.
