Cardi B has clashed with leading conservative political pundit Candace Owens after the Republican activist called the rapper an “embarrassment” to black people.
Cardi B is known for speaking her mind, fun catch phrases like “Okurr” and not being afraid to share her political opinions – in the past she’s even said she wants to become a politician one day.
So it’s not hard to see why Elle Magazine gave her a platform to interview US presidential candidate Joe Biden in August. The ‘WAP’ rapper mentioned many important political issues such as free healthcare, free college tuition and racial justice.
Many people were happy to see the interview, praising the rapper for opening up about her own experience of poverty.
But not everyone is such a fan…
Trump supporter and conservative activist Candace Owens, who called Cardi B “illiterate”.
Owens said that the interview was “demeaning… pandering [and] ridiculous” during a chat with conservative pundit Ben Shapiro.
Since most black people didn’t have the spine to admit that @benshapiro was 100% correct about @iamcardib and how her music and platform contributes to the disintegration of black culture and values…here you go. #WAP #SundaySpecial pic.twitter.com/q5QxxX9G4e

Cardi B responded that it was important for Joe Biden to talk with her because she was so well-known and because prejudice is still a big problem in America.
She shared a video of her sister Hennessy, who she claims was being harassed for her sexuality.
