The ninth-in-line to the throne is following in the footsteps of her cousin Prince Harry who married Meghan Markle at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, on May 19.

Unlike the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Eugenie and her wine merchant partner are tying the knot on a Friday, meaning it is likely to be a smaller event.

A host of A-listers including Oprah Winfrey, David and Victoria Beckham, plus George and Amal Clooney, provided the x-factor at Meghan and Harry’s wedding.

But while the duchess opted for young pageboys and bridesmaids, Eugenie is known to have a large circle of famous friends – could one of them be her bridesmaid?

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliam says Beatrice is a shoo-in for bridesmaid “as the sisters are famously extremely close”.

Mr Fitzwilliam exclusively told Express.co.uk: “She might well be maid of honour as Pippa was to Kate.”

Royal tradition dictates brides-to-be should have only woman adult in their wedding party, along with “flower girls” or young bridesmaids.

However Eugenie has extremely close relationships with a number of girlfriends including pop star Ellie Goulding and international model Cara Delevingne.

Prince Harry’s exes Chelsea Davy and Cressida Bonas also remain good friends.

However, Mr Fitzwilliams believes Eugenie will remain true to the modest values of the monarchy.

He said: “My expectations are that the choice of bridesmaids will be rather conservative.

“Royal bridesmaids usually tend to be young children or teenagers as I suspect Eugenie’s will be.

“I think it unlikely there will be a celebrity bridesmaid like Ellie Goulding.

“Nothing must detract attention from the bride and in our celebrity dominated culture having her or her equivalent as a bridesmaid undoubtedly would.”

This means Princess Charlotte certainly stands a good chance of being a bridesmaid again.

If so, it would see the three-year-old take on official duties for the third time in her life.

Why did Meghan Markle not have an adult bridesmaid of maid of honour?

Meghan was surrounded by an adorable, and at time boisterous, group of young pageboys and flower girls on her wedding day

They included Prince George, four, and his sister Princess Charlotte, three, who famously stuck out her tongue at photographers as she arrived.

The reason Meghan did not opt for a maid of honour because she “has a very close-knit circle of friends and she didn’t want to choose one over another,” a palace spokesperson told The Telegraph at the time.
