Meghan Markle received heavy praise on Twitter after she was captured closing her own car door upon arriving at an engagement without Prince Harry.
The Duchess of Sussex joined guests at the opening of an exhibition of works from the Oceania region, at the Royal Academy of Arts in London.
As she arrived at the event, the car door was opened and the Duchess got out of the vehicle and shook hands with the hosts.
Meghan then turned around and swiftly shut the car door.
The American beauty dazzled in a £2,500 black Givenchy dress as she attended the event.
In response to the footage, one Twitter user said: “Completely down to earth and humble”.
Another added: “I don’t think Meghan Markle sees herself as better than anyone else. She knows that is and Prince Harry are blessed to have found each other. I’m proud of her. Life is good.”
While one person wrote: “First, Meghan Markle is a refreshing American who brought her democratic ways to a hidebound (but very professional) Court.
“Second, due to the fact that I don’t see a protection officer immediately come to close the door, perhaps she requested to close her own door.”
Meghan passed a royal milestone on Tuesday when she attended the opening of the major art exhibition just over four months after becoming a member of the Royal Family.
The Duchess of Sussex also exchanged a Maori nose-rubbing greeting with a delegation of guests from New Zealand.
The exhibition celebrates the art of Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia, and the Pacific region, including New Guinea, Easter Island, Hawaii and New Zealand.
The exhibition marks the 250th anniversary of the Royal Academy, which was founded in 1768, the year Captain James Cook set out on his first Endeavour expedition.
