In addition to helping fund a coronavirus vaccine and offering the world a brand-new holiday album and Netflix Christmas film, Dolly Parton literally saved her co-star’s life, according to People. Talia Hill, who stars in Christmas on the Square alongside Parton, told Inside Edition that during the movie’s production, actual angel Dolly Parton saved her from getting hit by a car.
During a break in filming, Hill went to get hot chocolate, she explained, and as she was heading back to set, she said she felt a hand pull her back, only to realize that she was about to get hit by a car. Whose hand? Dolly’s, of course.
“I looked up and it was Dolly Parton. I was like, surprised, I was like [gasp],” Hill said.
“And she’s like, ‘Well, I am an angel, you know,'” Hill, who’s just 9 years old, continued. “‘Cause she plays an angel in the movie. And I was in shock. She hugged me and shook me and said, ‘I saved your life!'”
Christmas on the Square hit Netflix last month. In the holiday film, Parton plays an angel. In addition to Parton and Hill, the movie features Christine Baranski, Jenifer Lewis, Treat Williams, and Jeanine Mason.
Hill’s older brother, Tristian, also appears in the movie. He told People that while Parton didn’t save him from a near-death experience, she was pretty amazing.
“When you think of Dolly Parton, you are just like, ‘It is Dolly Parton,’ but when you actually see her you are like, ‘Wow, it’s Dolly Parton,’ being in her presence lifts you,” he said. “She is so amazing.”
Hill also had one more tidbit of insider info. Apparently, because she’s actually perfect, Dolly Parton even smells good.
“When Dolly walked in she smelled like heaven,” Hill added. “She greeted everyone even if you were a trashcan person. It was such a great feeling.”
