The UK death toll has risen by 388 with over 280 deaths in England today, including more in Birmingham and the Midlands.

A further 11 people with Covid-19 have died in Northern Ireland, the Department of Health has said.

The death toll recorded by the department now stands at 889.

There were also another 518 confirmed cases of the virus recorded in the last 24-hour reporting period.

A total of 48,229 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Northern Ireland since the pandemic began.

There have been a further 640 cases of coronavirus in Wales, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 68,449.

Public Health Wales reported another 41 deaths, taking the total in Wales since the start of the pandemic to 2,284.

There were 52 deaths in Birmingham and the Midlands:

THE ROYAL WOLVERHAMPTON NHS TRUST – 1
