The Queen would have been “very angry” with Meghan Markle’s dad after he revealed private conversations he shared with Prince Harry during an interview.

Thomas Markle revealed how Prince Harry “could be open” to the idea of Brexit.

Angela Levin, a royal commentator and a biographer of Prince Harry, revealed Ms Markle would have been upset but the interview.

Speaking on Channel 5 News, the presenter said: “I think the thing that struck me was how openly he talked about private conversations he had with Prince Harry, particularly about Trump and subjects like Brexit.

The host asked: How would this have gone down with the Royal Family?”

Me Levin replied: “I think the Queen will be very angry.

“She is absolutely the model of the stiff upper lip and not saying anything that is too political.”

She added: “I think Harry will be very cross but I think he will put all his energy into caring for her.

“He is a very caring man with those he likes and loves and I think he will realise how upset she has been by this.

“The betrayal it is really”

Speaking in his first ever TV interview for ITV’s Good Morning Britain, the American shared details about his private phone call with Prince Harry, whom he described as a “great and interesting guy” when he was asked to give his blessing to the wedding.

He said: “Harry asked for her hand on the phone and I said ‘You are a gentleman, promise me you will never raise your hand against my daughter and of course I will grant you my permission’.”

Mr Markle also revealed how Harry could be “open to the experiment of Brexit” as he discussed the UK’s decision to leave the EU with his son-in-law.

When pushed by the presenter about what Prince Harry had said about Brexit, Mr Markle described the chat as a “loose conversation”.

The Duchess of Sussex’s father said that the pair had: “a loose conversation about something we have to try. There’s no real commitment to it”.

When asked about the Prince’s views on the issue, Mr Markle added: “I think he was open to the experiment”.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tied the knot on May 19 and Thomas, who was a photographer, did not attend the wedding due to health issues.
