The second Royal Wedding of the year will take place at St George’s Chapel in Windsor on October 12, and just like Meghan and Harry’s nuptials in May, will feature an official reception hosted by the Queen in Windsor Castle directly following the ceremony.

However unlike the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s evening reception which took place at Frogmore House, Princess Eugenie’s evening celebration will be located at Royal Lodge, the family home of the Duke and Duchess of York.

A source commented on the celebrations to Vanity Fair, stating: “Sarah and Andrew are helping to organise the evening party.

“The plan is for a marquee to be set up in the grounds and dancing late into the night.”

Eugenie and Jack are taking overall control of the preparations, but the Duke and Duchess of York are reportedly strongly “involved”.

The source said: “Sarah is being very hands-on, but in a great way, and Eugenie wants her mum to be a big part of it all and will make sure Sarah is included in every aspect.

“Sarah is bringing a very eclectic and exciting guest list to Windsor.”

The Duchess of York will likely play a much more prominent role than at Meghan and Harry’s nuptials, when she was forced to remain separated from the other members of the Royal Family.

She was spotted hugging Mr Brooksbank on the way into St George’s Chapel, but was obliged to sit on the non-Royal side of the Quire alongside A-list celebrities including Serena Williams and George Clooney.

And while she received a coveted invitation to the wedding ceremony itself, she was not on the guest list for the exclusive evening reception.

The Duchess has had a fractious relationship with the Royal family since her divorce from Prince Andrew in 1996, but has maintained a close friendship with her ex-husband.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl noted Prince Philip struggles to be in the same room as Sarah, which poses a potential dilemma for the wedding festivities.

Another source told the Daily Mail: “Sarah is not a member of the Royal Family any more and Prince Charles simply doesn’t have time for her.”

The Duchess of York is nevertheless shrugging off former animosity according to Ms Nicholl, who noted she has already met with numerous designers to plan her outfit for the big day.

She is also reportedly relaxed about any encounters with senior members of the Royal family, and will ignore any former tensions.

The source said: “Her feeling is the other Royals will have to get on with it.”
