Millions tuned in to watch Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tie the knot back in May.

The moment Meghan became a member of the Royal Family was viewed by 29 million in the US and almost 18 million in the UK, capturing the attention of people across the world.

The Queen’s granddaughter Princess Eugenie marries fiancé Jack Brooksbank on October 12 at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Chapel.

The couple have copied some aspects of Prince Harry and Meghan’s special day.

There will be a carriage procession, members of the public have been invited and of course the venue is the same as Harry and Meghan.

However will Eugenie and Jack follow suit and televise their ceremony in October?

It remains unclear whether Eugenie and Jack’s wedding will be televised.

The Royal Family have not yet announced any broadcast or live-streaming plans, although there was no immediate announcement for a live broadcast when Prince Harry’s engagement was revealed.

Royal commentator Marlene Koenig told Royal Central there is a precedent for marriages of royal cousins to be broadcast on television.

She said: “I will be surprised if the wedding is not televised. The Duke of Kent’s wedding in 1961 was televised, as was Princess Alexandra’s in 1963.”

However she added the coverage may not be broadcast across the pond, due to a lack of international interest.

“Prince Edward’s wedding in 1999 was not picked up by the US networks, but was shown on BBC America.

“I kept saying that NBC was making plans to be in Windsor so they knew something so I was not worried about Harry’s wedding. The official announcement of a broadcast was not long before the actual wedding.”

Royal expert Omid Scobie said in his June 28 episode of ‘On Heir’ – a podcast he co-hosts primarily dedicated to royal news – he believes there will be attention from every major network.

He said: “Looking back at some of the smaller royal weddings, they don’t normally get televised; however, there is a lot of interest in Eugenie’s wedding.

“I think the fact that we had billions of people watching Harry and Meghan’s wedding this time around showed just how much interest there will be.

“And the fact that every member of the royal family will be there in October makes this one of the most anticipated events on the social calendar later this year.

“There will be lots of interest. No doubt, every major network has requested some sort of access.”
