Duchess of Cambridge, Kate, 36, accompanied by Prince William, 36, played a more subdued role in the wedding of one of her closest friends whilst the young royals took centre stage.

George and Charlotte are now accustomed to public appearances and wedding duties, earlier this year they played a big role in the wedding of their uncle Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex and Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle in May, as well as the wedding of auntie Pippa Middleton to James Matthews last year.

George, the third-in-line to the throne, wore a collarless white shirt, sky-blue knickerbockers, white stockings and white loafers.

Sister Charlotte wore a white dress with blue piping and circlet of flowers, both designed by Amaia Kids.

Their baby brother Prince Louis, who was born on April 23, was thought to have been at home with nanny.

Mother Kate looked radiant wearing a periwinkle blue suit by Catherine Walker.

The in-demand royals were among seven youngster taking part in Sophie Carter’s wedding – who is Princess Charlotte’s godmother and very close with the Middleton family.

Sophie is among five godparents to the 3-year-old along with Kate’s cousin Adam Middleton, William’s cousin Lady Laura Fellowes, and friends of the duke Thomas van Straubenzee and James Meade.

Sophie invited Kate’s entire family, brother James and parents Michael and Carole Middleton attended the ceremony.

However a noticeable absentee was sister Pippa, who was unable to attend, as the birth of her first child with husband James Matthews is imminent.

Kate and Sophie have been friends since childhood and is a member of the ‘Turnip Toffs’ that make up William and Kate’s set around their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall.

Ms Carter grew up in the village of Letheringsett, Norfolk, which is located close to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s country retreat, Anmer House.
