Who are in the official christening photographs?

The official portraits were taken by British photographer Matt Holyoak at Clarence House after Prince Louis was baptised at Clarence House on Monday, July 9.

In one photo, Kate and William are joined by their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte as the Duchess of Cambridge cradles a sleeping Prince George in her arms.

They are joined by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, and the Middleton family including Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, Kate’s sister Pippa Matthews and her husband James and the youngest of the Middleton family, James.

In another photograph, the royal family appear without the Middletons, as Prince Charlotte looks lovingly at her younger brother and Prince George beams at the camera.

A third photograph features just the Cambridge family as a family of five, as Kate gazes down into the eyes of the newest member of the Cambridge family.

The fourth photo features just Kate and Louis in the garden of Clarence House.

Prince Louis was sound asleep as he was carried into the Chapel Royal by Kate for the christening ceremony which lasted 40 minutes.

After the ceremony, the baby prince looked content and wiggled his fingers as Kate gazed down and beamed at him as she held him in her arms.

With Prince George and Princess Charlotte joining their parents for Louis’s big day, it was the first time the Cambridge family were seen together as a family of five.

The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh were not in attendance at the ceremony, but Buckingham Palace said the decision was made “some time ago” and not on health grounds.

The monarch had a busy week ahead, with high-profile celebrations in central London marking the centenary of the RAF on Tuesday and visit by US President Donald Trump in Windsor on Friday.

Prince Louis was dressed a cream, frilly lace royal christening gown – a replica of the intricate robe made for Queen Victoria’s eldest daughter in 1841.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, welcomed the royals, bending down to greet George and Charlotte, who looked happy and content, at the entrance to the chapel.

Meghan – who was attending her first royal christening – looked stylish dressed in an olive-green Ralph Lauren outfit and Stephen Jones hat.

Louis had not been seen in public, other than in photographs released by Kensington Palace, since his debut outside the Lindo Wing on the day he was born.

Prince Louis’s six godparents were among the guests including the duke’s close friend Guy Pelly.

Louis’s other godparents are Nicholas van Cutsem, Harry Aubrey-Fletcher, Lady Laura Meae, Hannah Carter and Lucy Middleton.

Prince Louis Arthur Charles of Cambridge, fifth in line to the throne, was born on St George’s Day, April 23, at the private Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, weighing 8lb 7oz.
