The next royal event on the agenda is of course the christening of Prince Louis who was born in April.

Prince Louis was born on April 23 at the Lindo wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington.

Kensington Palace confirmed the fifth-in-line to the throne’s christening last month.

A statement released by the palace said: “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased to announce that the christening of Prince Louis will take place on Monday 9th July at The Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace, London.”

The third child of the royal couple will be christened by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby.

The christening will take place when Prince Louis is just 11 weeks old.

The palace added: “The service will begin at 4pm and will last approximately 40 minutes.”

Prince Louis has not been seen in public seen the day of his birth when William and Kate bought him outside to the steps of the hospital to greet awaiting photographers.

The newborn was not present at the royal wedding of his uncle Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

But Louis’ older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte were at the stunning ceremony at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.

Prince George was just three months old when he was baptised in the Chapel Royal.

Princess Charlotte was christened when she was nine weeks at St Mary Magdalene Church on the Queen’s Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.

The location for Princess Charlotte’s christening was chosen because of the church’s proximity to the family’s home in 2015, which was Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

The only daughter of the couple was christened in the same church as Princess Diana.

Prince Louis will be christened in the Lily Font, which is used for all of the Royal Family newborns, including Prince George’s in 2013.

The font, which is said to be worth £11,000, is kept at the Tower of London and transported to the church in an operation clouded in secrecy.

The Lily Font weight 21lbs and is gilded in silver and decorated with lilies, ivy and cherubs.
