The rags to riches story of the Royal Family’s recent four-legged addition will be told in a book entitled ‘His Royal Dogness, Guy the Beagle: The Rebarkable True Story of Mgehan Markle’s Rescue Dog’.

The story will retell Guy’s journey from the woods of Kentucky to Kensington Palace as he adapts to life across the pond.

Meghan Markle has always been a dog-lover and before she moved to the UK to marry Prince Harry she was forced to leave her Labrador-German Shepherd mix Bogart behind in Canada.

Bogart was said to be too old to make the long journey from Toronto to London.

But Guy came with her and he has since been settling into royal life just fine – even spotted riding to Windsor for the Royal Wedding with the Queen.

Both Guy and Bogart were adopted from a rescue centre in Los Angeles.

And now brown and white beagle Guy has a new playmate after Meghan and Prince Harry recently adopted a black labrador named Oz.

Guy’s official acceptance into the Royal Family represents a complete turnaround in his fortune.

He went from a US shelter to a Canadian adoption group and was then adopted by Meghan in 2015.

Alison Preise, marketing manager for Pet Valu Canada, where the dog stayed, previously said: “It’s a total fairytale.

“Here is this dog that was in a shelter, nobody wanted him, and through this wonderful adoption he’s now living in a palace, running around with the royal family.”

The beloved beagle was reported to have been one of the highlights of the Royal Wedding night and he enjoyed the party by causing chaos and scoffing all the spilled canapés.

It is believed he also had the honour of riding to Windsor for the wedding with Her Majesty the Queen earlier on the Saturday morning after a pooch bearing a striking resemblance to the Duke of Sussex’s dog was spotted in the monarch’s car.

Guy is not the only royal pet to have a book written about him Kate and Prince William’s dog Lupo has his very own series and the Queen’s beloved corgis are featured in children’s books.

The book was produced by writer and producer Mike Brumm, publisher Camille March and illustrator by EG Keller.

His Royal Dogness, Guy the Beagle: The Rebarkable True Story of Meghan Markle’s Rescue Dog is due for release on November 20.
