The Duchess of Sussex mentioned sister-in-law Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, before she even met future husband Prince Harry.
Now comfortably settling in to royal life with the Prince, the former actress once wrote about Kate in a blog post.
Meghan Markle had previously held many interests before becoming involved with the crown, and was forced to give up some as she joined the family.
One such interest was running a blog named ‘The Tig’ in which she wrote about lifestyle.
What did Meghan Markle say about Kate?
Meghan discussed the issue of being a princess and royalty in 2014, and included an interview with Princess Alia Al-Senussi of Libya.
She also made a fleeting reference to Kate, talking about her upcoming nuptials with Prince William and the drama of royalty.
Before marrying Prince Harry, the blog post was her most recent connection to the royal family.
According to People magazine, Meghan wrote: “Grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy (of being a princess).
“Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate.”
However, Meghan did reveal that she herself did not posses the childhood dream of becoming a princess, focussing instead on fictional superhero She-Ra.
“Little girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power,” she said.
The Tig was later given up by Meghan as she joined the royal family, but the website remains active, showing a goodbye message from the Duchess herself.
It said: “After close to three beautiful years on this adventure with you, it’s time to say goodbye to The Tig.
“What began as a passion project (my little engine that could) evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun and frivolity.
“You’ve made my days brighter and filled this experience with so much joy.
“Keep finding those Tig moments of discovery, keep laughing and taking risks, and keep being the change you wish to see in the world.”
Now, Duchesses Kate and Meghan are said to be very close to one another, with Kate very welcoming to the former Suits actor.
A source has revealed that even though she is busy, Kate will always make an effort to see her new sister-in-law.
According to Now, the source said: “Kate has her hands full with the children and baby, but ensures she makes time to touch base with Meghan.”
The two have been seen smiling and laughing together while out this year, especially at Wimbledon where they shared many pleasant moments.
