The mother-of-three, who has been on maternity leave following the birth of Prince Louis on April 23, looked radient in a periwinkle blue suit by Catherine Walker.
Kate also wore a floral headpiece thought to be by Juliette Botterill Millinery, who also designed the piece the Duchess wore for Prince Louis’ christening.
Kate’s hairstylist, Amanda Cook Tucker, is also believed to have styled the bride’s hair.
Until now the Duchess of Cambridge has remained mostly out of the royal limelight, spending time with Prince Louis, with the exception of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Royal Wedding, two trips to Wimbledon and a smattering of other royal events.
The dutiful mother Kate kept a watchful eye of her young ones Prince George and Princess Charlotte at Saturday’s wedding.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were there to keep the two in check, as were Kate’s brother James and their parents Michael and Carole Middleton.
The entire Middleton family, who have known Sophie since she was a schoolgirl, were invited.
But Kate’s sister Pippa missed the occasion as she is due to give birth to her first child soon.
While five-year-old George, looked positively delighted to be there, his little sister, aged three, was less impressed, with her expressions ranging from less-than-impressed to distinctly grumpy.
The young prince looked resplendent in his collarless white shirt, sky-blue knickerbockers, white stockings and white loafers.
And he seemed to thrive on the attention, laughing throughout and even finding time to play soldiers with his fellow pageboys after the ceremony.
Perhaps impatient to get on with the job, he was also spotted peering out of the church before the bride arrived.
However, Charlotte, in a white dress with blue piping and a circlet of flowers seemed less enthralled by the occasion as she kept a tight hold of her posy and blue bag.
At one point she scowls while in the arms of her mum, and in a another picture she glares into the camera.
They were among seven youngsters who did the honours for as Sophie married Robert Suggs at St Andrew’s Church in Letheringsett, Norfolk.
The children’s outfits were specially designed by the online clothing company Amaia Kids.
Like William and Kate, Sophie, who once dates Prince William’s pal Thomas van Straubenzee, is a member of the Turnip Toffs.
This is the nickname given to a group of friends who live within striking distance of the Royal Couple’s Norfolk home, Anmer Hall.
She was a guest at Pippa Middleton’s wedding to James Matthew in 2017, as well as the marriage of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in May.
Her brother Robert is married to another of Kate’s old school friends, Hannah Gillingham.
