The Duchess of Cambridge, 36, and her husband William, 36, have often embarked on royal tours together during their seven years of married life.

But second-in-line to the throne William will embark on a tour of Africa on Monday September 24, which was arranged by the UK Government, without Kate.

It is understood the future King and his wife prefer to keep certain tours and projects, that are close to their hearts, individual from joint state tours or visits.

Kate has often been a champion of mental health rights, especially for children, while William has followed in his father Prince Charles’ footsteps as a champion of wildlife and nature.

His trip will be a series of engagements to fight against the illegal trade of wildlife, with the Duke embracing his role as President for charities United For Wildlife and Tusk Trust, which both protect endangered species in Africa.

But on Thursday, OK! Magazine’s royal expert Christina Reeves explained the African trip would see the future king travel alone, due to it being a “personal project” that involves a subject close to his heart.

Mrs Reeves said: “Typically William has always worked solo in his fight against illegal wildlife trade, which is why we wouldn’t see Kate join him on a trip like this or him joining Kate on her own personal projects, such as promoting the importance of perinatal, maternal and children’s mental health.”

The royal expert revealed Prince William’s schedule will remain private, meeting leaders and key figures on his travels.

William will visit African nations Namibia, Tanzania and Kenya when he heads to the continent next week.

Although the Duke is visiting troops for the Irish Guards, he will also be promoting a conference against the illegal wildlife trade.

Kensington Palace tweeted on Thursday: “The Duke of Cambridge will visit Namibia, Tanzania and Kenya from Monday 24th to Sunday 30th September.

“The private working trip is being made as @United4Wildlife President and @Tusk_org Patron ahead of the 2018 Illegal Wildlife Trade Conference in London #EndWildlifeCrime.”

It is also thought that the Duchess will remain on maternity leave for the rest of the month, as she focuses on her three children, including newborn Prince Louis.

Kate and William apparently have strong ideas about how they will raise their children.

The royals have three children, Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, three, and Prince Louis who was born in April.

Yahoo! Lifestyle reported via US Weekly that, much like Wiliam’s mother, Diana Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess want to raise their children very normally.

The source said: “William and Kate very much prioritise bringing up the children in as normal an environment as possible.”
