Throughout their 15-year relationship, Prince William and Kate have visited some of the most luxurious destinations in the world, and have gone out of their way to holiday twice a year.

These days, the royal couple try to get away before every royal tour they undertake.

One holiday which continues to be a favourite for the couple is hitting the slopes in Europe.

The pair are keen skiers and Kate recently visited a ski resort in Meribel, France, for her sister Pippa’s hen do.

In March 2016, Kate and Prince William – whose late mother used to take him and his brother Prince Harry on snowy getaways – brought George and Charlotte to ski in the French Alps, staying in the luxurious Courchevel ski resort.

The couple have also paid a visit to Biarritz, France, a seaside town on the southwestern coast of France, where they stayed in the Hotel du Palais.

Kate and William have also frequented private islands such as North Island, the Seychelles.

There, the couple are said to have enjoyed their first taste of married life in the island’s glamorous resort The Villa – which promises privacy and luxury.

They had their own private chef and spent time snorkelling during their 2011 honeymoon.

The resort’s site states that guests can expect the “quintessence of privacy and seclusion”.

Perhaps the royal couple’s favourite spot is The Runtundu Lodge, a luxury getaway on the slopes Mount Kenya, where Prince William popped the question to his university girlfriend in 2010.

There, they fished for rainbow trout, cooked for themselves, sat by log fires and enjoyed evenings lit by hurricane lanterns.
