Black Panther and Stranger Things swept the 2018 MTV Movie and TV Awards with seven awards between them.
Marvel film Black Panther received the highest honour of the night with the best movie accolade.
Its stars, Chadwick Boseman, Michael B Jordan and Winston Duke, collected the award on stage and thanked the fans.
“It’s incredible when you – when the stereotype used to be people of colour couldn’t bring y’all out to the theatre and be able to make these types of films,” Jordan said.
Boseman picked up two trophies for Best Hero and Best Movie Performance for his role as lead character T’Challa, who is the king of the fictional African nation of Wakanda.
He used his first win to honour real life hero James Shaw Jr, who fought off a gunman during a shooting at a Nashville Waffle House earlier this year.
His co-star Jordan also won a golden popcorn bucket after being honoured as Best Villain in the film as a US black-ops soldier who seeks to overthrow T’Challa.
Stranger Things also dominated the awards held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, which was hosted by Tiffany Haddish.
The Netflix original drama took home three of the evening’s 14 awards, including Best Show.
Actress Millie Bobby Brown, 14, won Best Actress for her role as Eleven in the hit science fiction series, while Noah Schnapp accepted the Most Frightened Performance award.
Netflix announced in December that the show is returning for a third season – but a release date has not yet been announced.
As well as presenting the show, Haddish won the award for Best Comedic Performance for her role in Girls Trip.
Jurassic World star Chris Pratt was honoured with the Generation Award, while actress and writer Lena Waithe – who won an Emmy for comedy series Master of None – was honoured with the Trailblazer Award.
Keeping up with the Kardashians won Best Reality Series. Kim Kardashian accepted the award, telling the audience: “Thank you to my crazy family for keeping it going this long.”
