Prince Philip has never forgiven the Duchess of York for the series of scandals that she has put the family through since back in 1992 when pictures emerged of the redhead receiving a toe-sucking from oil tycoon John Bryan.

The Duke of Edinburgh is thought to be so upset at the sex scandal and the subsequent embarrassment to the Royal Family he will struggle to be in the same room as her at Princess Eugenie’s upcoming Royal Wedding.

But a royal biographer claims Sarah, also known as Fergie, was always “scared” of Philip after he issued her with a stern warning during a family lunch in the early years of her marriage to Prince Andrew.

Speaking in a recently unearthed 1997 clip of ‘Fergie: Downfall of the Duchess’, Allan Starkie, author of ‘Fergie, Her Secret Life’, said: “The person she was most afraid of in the Royal Family was Prince Philip.

“Earlier on in the marriage, he had told her ‘now you’re a member of the firm you can do anything you want, but you’ll always be found out.’

“And she was always frightened about that. One time she walked into a room where the Queen and Prince Philip were to have dinner with her and she greeted each one of the servants with their first name and when they sat down Philip turned to her and said ‘I thought you give up flirting with the servants ago?’

“And she was riveted by these one liners that he would come up with periodically.”

Prince Philip was not the only member of the royal family to make their dislike of Prince Andrew’s wife clear.

Princess Anne once described Sarah as the “outsider” of the firm, which sparked the two women to have a “very, very frosty relationship”.

David Leigh, co-author of ‘The Duchess of York Uncensored’ said: “ Anne once called her an outsider at a family lunch and there was a furious row between Andrew and Anne. Fergie walked out of the room in tears.

“Andrew demanded Anne apologise, which she did, but after that there was a very, very frosty relationship between Fergie and Anne.”

Sarah has not been an official member of the Royal Family in 20 years but still shares a residence with her ex-husband.

The pair, who have two daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, divorced in 1996 after pictures emerged of the redhead receiving a toe-sucking from oil tycoon John Bryan.

Sarah Ferguson was staying at Balmoral when the images were published, and the Windsors came across them in the morning newspapers at the breakfast table.

Philip was said to be livid when pictures emerged.

But the pair will reunite when Sarah and Prince Andrew’s youngest daughter Princess Eugenie ties the knot to Jack Brooksbank in October.
