A source close to Mr Markle told The Mirror: “He says they have not given him a f***ing dime back.
“He is growing increasingly bitter about it.
“It has not been helped by how his ex-wife, Meghan’s mum, has been so welcomed into the Royal fold.”
The source added: “While he was working, Tom supported all his children. He was generous.
“But he made no secret that he expected in his dotage the money he spent on them would be repaid.”
Mr Markle had also reportedly expected Meghan to look after him in his old age.
According to the source, Mr Markle claimed: “I took care of my mother for the last five years of her life.
“My daughter said she’d take care of me in my declining years.
“I’m not talking money, I’m talking about taking care of me.
“That’s important to me.”
Mr Markle reportedly used to earn a six-figure sum working as a lighting director in Hollywood.
He used this salary, and $750,000 from a 1990 California State Lottery win, to fund Meghan’s private education.
However in 2016 he was declared bankrupt, with over £24,000 in credit card debts.
He currently lives in Mexico near the US border in a rented home.
When Meghan worked in the hit TV show Suits she was reportedly paid $37,000 an episode.
Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland, who has a good relationship with the Royal Family, could be on the verge of moving to London to be close to her daughter and son-in-law.
Meghan married Prince Harry at a lavish ceremony at Windsor Castle in May.
Mr Markle had been expected to walk his daughter down the isle, but was unable to do so due to a heart operation.
Meghan was instead accompanied down the isle by her now father-in-law Prince Charles.
Mr Markle was also involved in a row when it was revealed he had been paid by a paparazzi to stage a series of photographs.
Last month Mr Markle caused further outrage by saying that Princess Diane “would have loathed” the way he was being treated.
