The royal expert said Thomas Markle Sr. “hasn’t been prepared” by Buckingham Palace for the media storm created by the royal hysteria surrounding the wedding of his daughter Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
Speaking on BBC News, Ms Nikkhah said: “I think the part of all of it what he feels most upset by is the fact that contact with his daughter has been broken and he’s talked a lot in three interviews now about the fact he feels he made a big mistake with those paparazzi shots.
“But feels very hurt that since before the wedding he has had no contact with his daughter at all.”
The Royal Correspondent for the Sunday Times said Thomas Markle is “not going anywhere” and will continue to talk to the press.
She added: “That is something that I think the Palace will increasingly understand and try and thing about how on earth they go about trying to draw a line under this because it hasn’t happened yet.”
Ms Nikkhah said Mr Markle simply “wants contact with his daughter”.
She said: “The key issue is and the nervousness will be on Kensington Palace’s part and on Prince Harry and Meghan’s part is that they will feel now any meeting that takes place or any conversation that happens, they are very nervous, and I’m sure that will appear in a newspaper the next day. That’s the problem.”
Thomas Markle, 74, told The Sun he believes he will be “locked out” by Buckingham Palace.
Speaking from his home in Mexico, Mr Markle said: “I don’t expect to see her or hear back from her and that’s OK.”
Mr Markle said he thinks the interviews had “locked the door, pulled the windows down and closed the shades” between himself and the Royal Family.
He said: “I want to say good luck and God bless to my daughter. I don’t expect to see her or hear back from her — and that’s OK.
“All I was doing was saying things I wanted to say. I just want to re-establish the relationship with my daughter.
“I now want to go away on vacation somewhere and try to get some peace.”
Mr Markle was forced to pull out of the Royal Wedding last minute after having to undergo heart surgery.
