Kate the Duchess of Cambridge will be attending Wimbledon alongside Prince William for the men’s final today.
But the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not be attending Wimbledon today for the men’s singles final, Kensington Palace has said.
The final is taking place at 2pm on Centre Court at the All England Lawn Tennis Club.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will take their place in the Royal Box to watch Novak Djokovic take on Kevin Anderson for the Grand Slam title.
Serbian Djokovic secured victory over Rafael Nadal to claim his place in the final today.
South African Anderson comes into the mach after a marathon semi-final lasting six hours and 36 minutes against John Isner on Friday.
The finalists will have to contend with highs of 32C on Centre Court today as the heatwave continues.
The Met Office forecast for today said: “A dry day across the region with long sunny periods.
“Becoming hot across most parts, but with onshore breezes keeping coastal areas a little cooler. Maximum temperatures 31C.”
Meghan and Kate attended the women¹s singles final on Saturday to cheer on Serena Williams as she competed against Angelique Kerber.
The two appeared in high spirits in their first solo outing together, as they chatted and laughed in the Royal Box.
Also watching from the Royal Box on Saturday, were actresses Emma Watson and Thandie Newton and actor Sir Mark Rylance.
Before the match, the royal duo chatted with ball boys and girls, wheelchair competitors and junior players.
Meghan wore wide-legged cream trousers with a blue and white Ralph Lauren shirt in a nod to the designer who supplies the clothing for the Championship’s ball kids, lines judges and umpires.
Prepared for a day in the sun, the newlywed who was invited to SW19 by Kate, was also carrying a white wide-brimmed hat with black ribbon.
Kate was wearing a Jenny Packham dress with nude suede heels, and matching handbag.
Williams lost in straight sets against Kerber, failing in her bid for an eighth ladies’ singles title.
However the American only gave birth 10 months ago, she was the first mother to reach the final since Australian Evonne Goolagong triumphed 38
years ago.
Williams has described her friendship with newlywed Meghan as wonderful, and in the past Meghan has attended the championships to cheer the 36-year-old from her player¹s box.
“Every year for a couple years, she comes out to Wimbledon, has supported me. Now she¹s supporting me in a different role. But our friendship is still exactly the same,” Williams said.
The tennis ace was a guest at Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harrying May, after the pair become friends at a Super Bowl event in 2010.
