Royal Ascot begins each day with a Royal procession involving Her Majesty the Queen, who has attended every day of the meeting for the past 64 years.
The last time the Queen missed an event at Royal Ascot being during her coronation in 1953.
The famous annual five-day racing event seems to go hand-in-hand with high fashion, with photographers at the event as eager to snap the Royals and revellers as the races themselves.
Women are required to wear dresses that are on the knee or longer and straps need to measure one inch or greater.
Hats or fascinators also need to be worn.
The attention to detail required for the event has resulted in all attendees going all out on the fashion front.
Royal expert, Richard Fitzwilliams, told Express.co.uk: “The Royal procession, which dates from 1825, is a marvellous feature of Royal Ascot, which is the highlight of the season, Europe’s largest race meeting and a glorious kaleidoscope of colour being of pivotal importance to the fashion industry.
“There is no event in the world which has its very special cachet.”
On day one Meghan Markle wowed viewers in a crisp white Givenchy dress and Balenciaga heels as the Duchess of Sussex made her first appearance at Royal Ascot – accompanied with her husband Prince Harry.
The Queen opted for sunshine yellow with pale blue accents for the first day at the races which are held in Berkshire.
The Queen’s fashion choices have been bright and bold since she first ascended the Royal throne.
And day two saw no difference as Her Majesty beamed in a powder blue coat and hat by Stewart Parvin, complete with pink flowers.
On the third day of Her Majesty’s favourite week of the year, she wore a raspberry pink coat, a floral print dress and a matching Rachel Trevor Morgan hat.
Mr Fitzwilliams said: “A feature of Royal Ascot is that bets are placed on the colour of the Queen’s hat.”
Her Majesty left the bookies feeling deflated after punters landed another winner as The Queen wore green on Royal Ascot’s fourth day.
The Queen arrived in style, wearing a lime green coat and hat, with a matching floral dress and a pink accented hat, paired with elegant white gloves and her signature brooch.
Green had been backed as the favourite, at 1-2, the shortest price of the week.
Harry Aitkenhead from Bookmaker’s Coral said: “After successfully predicting three days in a row, punters went in bigger and better for Friday and green was the heavy favourite.
“The Queen promptly obliged, leaving us looking a bit green ourselves and our customers up and down the country raising a toast to Her Majesty.”
