The royal couple will visit Oz before journeying onto Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand during their 16-day trip in October.
They have been invited by the four Commonwealth countries, following Harry’s new role as Commonwealth youth ambassador in April.
Kate and William visited Australia and New Zealand in April 2014, taking then eight-month-old Prince George with them during their three-week whirlwind tour.
Their itinerary saw them visit the Australian capital Canberra, plus Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and ancient indigenous rock Uluru.
How Meghan’s Australia tour compares to Kate and Wills
A detailed itinerary of Meghan and Harry’s tour has yet to be revealed but we do know they will travel to Sydney, Dubbo, Melbourne and Fraser Island between October 16 and 22, before leaving for Fiji.
Kensington Palace said: “The programme across these four Commonwealth countries will focus on youth leadership, environmental and conservation efforts – including the dedication of several new Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy projects – and the recovery and rehabilitation of servicemen and women through the Invictus Games Sydney 2018.”
The Games are an inclusive multi-sport international competition set up by Prince Harry to help wounded veterans participate in sports.
Sydney is the 2018 host and the royal couple will attend its opening ceremony on October 20.
As part of their stay, they will also visit the world’s largest sand island, Fraser Island, in Queensland to see a finished Queen’s Canopy project.
What happened during Kate’s visit?
Kate and William’s trip was an opportunity to “celebrate Australia’s and New Zealand’s success in the fields of technology, tourism, sports and the creative arts”, the Palace said back in 2014.
The visit coincided with Australia’s national day of remembrance, known as Anzac Day, when its war dead are commemorated.
Kate and William attended a special service in Canberra to mark the occasion.
Other stops included Sydney Opera House, Taronga Zoo, and a community district in the Blue Mountains which had been ravaged by bush fires the year before.
Although William had previously visit the country, it was Kate’s first time in Australia.
One of the most memorable moments was when the duchess shared a giggle with terminally ill Mia Murchison, nine, at Bear Cottage hospice.
The little girl, who had Batten Disease, tragically died in August 2018 after succumbing to the disorder which targets the nervous system.
Are Australians excited about Harry and Megan’s visit?
Former Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has previously spoken warmly of a visit from Harry and Meghan, saying the country was excited.
He said: “The Duke of Sussex has become a champion for war veterans around the world, including in Australia.
“His attendance, alongside the Duchess of Sussex, will be a wonderful highlight for the more than 500 competitors and thousands of spectators.”
