The down-to-earth couple surprised onlookers on their British Airways flight to Nice not long before their wedding, with Meghan sat in the middle seat and Harry sporting a baseball cap.

According to British Airways’ website, its flights feature four classes – economy, premium economy, business/club and first, although flights to Nice only feature two options, economy and business/club.

Typically, the price of the latter is slightly more than triple that of the former, with the most expensive, Saturday morning shuttle costing £323 per person.

Meanwhile sun-kissed Nice, a popular venue for tourists from all over Europe, is significantly more affordable than neighbouring Monaco – a Principality which is technically autonomous from France which also on the Cote D’Azur, and which has a reputation of being the playground of the rich and famous.

Tourists regular visit the capital, Monte Carlo, to admire yachts worth millions of pounds.

Tennis stars including reigning Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic call it home.

Harry and Meghan’s modest outlay was all a far cry from their subsequent nuptials, as they got married at St George’s Chapel in Windsor in a lavish ceremony attended by fellow Royals including the Queen, Prince Charles and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The wedding planning website Bridebook.co.uk calculated that the total cost, including the provision of security, is likely to have amounted to more than £32million.

It was not the last time they jetted away from the UK this year – although the couple’s honeymoon destination remains shrouded in mystery.

Royal watchers believe the pair grabbed a two-week break sometime in May, arriving back home in time for the Trooping the Colour ceremony on May 22.

Canada, Ireland, and Rwanda in Africa have all been floated as possibilities but no official confirmation was forthcoming.

Whether they went though, it’s doubtful whether they did so on the cheap.

As for the remainder of 2018, there are rumours aplenty that the Royal couple will try and start having children soon, with Harry fuelling the gossip by putting his Audi RS6 up for sale, and revealing that he favoured replacing it with a bigger family car.

The pair were last seen out in public on Saturday at the wedding of Harry’s childhood friend Charlie van Straubenzee to filmmaker Daisy Jenks in Surrey.

Other royals in attendance at the event – which coincided with Meghan’s birthday – included Princess Eugenie – who will walk dow the aisle herself in October with long-term boyfriend Jack Brooksbank.
