A baby boy born on a suburban French train will receive free rides in Paris until he is 25, the train company said.
The baby was born on an RER train in central Paris just after 11am on June 18, causing major delays on the A line network.
The train driver, named as Raouf in an RER A blog post, said that, after stopping the train at Auber Station, he went immediately to the first carriage, but the woman had already given birth.
He said two women were with the new mother, one supporting her and the other holding the baby, who was wrapped in a scarf.
“It was a very beautiful moment,” Raouf said.
