The number of US coronavirus infections climbed above 82,000 on Thursday (Mar 26), surpassing the national tallies of China and Italy.
China has reported 81,782 cases and Italy has reported 80,589. The U.S. has a population of more than 329 million, far smaller than China’s more than 1.3 billion.
A World Health Organization official warned Tuesday that the U.S. could become the new epicenter of the virus after Italy and China, according to Reuters.
The U.S. death toll crossed 1,000 on Thursday as the number of infections across the globe climbed to 500,000.
New York City remains the epicenter of the virus in the U.S., where cases have now topped 30,000.
Massachusetts reported 2,417 cases on Thursday, an increase of 579 from the day prior. At least 25 people have died.
The USA have more realistic figures, what you will see is that without testing many will have had the virus and never know. Not all get even bad symptoms, indeed for most it’s much like the flu or even a mere cold.
But then we don’t have ‘tremendous’ testing like they do on the States…..
