Biden’s lead in Arizona shrank to about 43,800 votes as of about 11 a.m. Friday Eastern time, as more than 200,000 early ballots remained to be counted.
Maricopa County, the state’s largest, on Friday morning reported 142,000 early ballots left to process, about 5,000 still needing verification and nearly 16,000 unprocessed provisional ballots. The county plans to update its numbers again at 9 p.m. Eastern time.
The county says more than 1.9 million people cast a ballot — nearly three-quarters of all its eligible voters.
As of about 11 a.m. Friday Eastern time, Biden has 50 percent of the vote compared to Trump’s 48.58 percent statewide, though the gap has been steadily narrowing.
Former astronaut Mark Kelly is projected to win his Arizona Senate race against Sen. Martha McSally (R), according to Edison Research.
