As has now become something of a tradition, the palace has released three new photos of Princess Charlotte taken—you guessed it—by her mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, to celebrate her fourth birthday, on Thursday. The majority of the birthday shots released for the young royals have been taken by Kate, a photography enthusiast. (Last week, we received new photos of Prince Louis, ahead of his his first birthday, also taken by the Duchess.)
The three images show Charlotte outside: playing with a flower in one, hanging out on the grass in another, and chilling on a fence in the third. They have the natural and casual vibe of most of Kate’s images. (It is always fun to imagine Kate behind the camera: “O.K., just one more, Charlotte. One more, and then we’ll go inside.”) In two of the pictures, taken at Anmer Hall, the family’s Norfolk estate, Charlotte wears a gray sweater over a Amaia Kids dress; in the third, taken at Kensington Palace, she wears a blue patterned dress (which she also wore to visit Prince Louis when he was born in the Lindo Wing) and blue Trotters pumps, no laces.
It could be something of a royal-content-palooza tomorrow if Meghan Markle were to give birth to her daughter or son on the same day as Charlotte’s birthday.
