Kelly Clarkson has filed for divorce from her husband of nearly seven years, Brandon Blackstock.
According to a report from The Blast, the 38-year-old filed to end the partnership at a Los Angeles court on 4 June, while TMZ report that Clarkson has asked that their prenup be ‘enforced’ and listed the separation date as ‘TBD’ (to be determined).
So far, neither Kelly nor Brandon, 43, have spoken out about the divorce rumours. The pair tied the knot with a ceremony in 2013, and share two children – daughter River Rose, five, and son Remington Alexander, four.
MailOnline report that the pair put their California home up for sale last month, for just under $10 million, while Kelly also listed her Tennessee lakeside mansion up for sale in December 2019.
Brandon also shares his 13-year-old son Seth and 17-year-old daughter Savannah with his ex-wife Melissa Ashworth.
Kelly previously opened up about their marriage to Red Book in 2015, commenting on how independence is so important for her. “Brandon is not my other half,” she commented. “He’s a whole and I’m a whole. I’ve never believed in someone taking care of me, and that’s probably because I grew up poor and without a lot of family stability.”
