Pop star Jessie J has revealed that she spent Christmas Eve in hospital after struggling to walk and going “completely deaf” in one ear.
The 32-year-old singer, who is currently living in California, took to her Instagram page over the weekend to open up about her health scare.
In her candid social media post, Jessie told fans that she fell ill and was rushed to hospital where she was diagnosed with Meniere’s syndrome.
Meniere’s is an ear condition that can cause vertigo and the sensation that everything around you is spinning, meaning it is difficult to stand or walk straight.
Symptoms also include nausea, dizziness, and loss of balance.
Channing Tatum’s ex penned: “I woke up and felt like I was completely deaf in my right ear, couldn’t walk in a straight line.
“Basically I got told I had Meniere’s syndrome. I know that a lot of people suffer from it and I’ve actually had a lot of people reach out to me and give me great advice, so I’ve just been laying low in silence.
“Now’s the first time I’ve been able to sing and bear it.”
She added: “I am now watching Queen’s Gambit with my finger in my ear.
“I’ve done the first episode 4 times because I [have] zero focus and my ear sounds like someone crawled in and turned a hair dryer on.
“It could be way worse, it is what it is. I’m super-grateful for my health.
