Rapper and music producer Dr Dre has agreed to pay his estranged wife Nicole Young $3.2 million a month in temporary financial support as he recovers from a brain aneurysm.
The Blast reported that during a hearing the couple’s respective lawyers agreed Young would be granted the funds she requested for her living expenses, like her Malibu home and security, until they meet in court again in April.
The music mogul and Young filed for divorce in June last year and in September Young asked for $3.2 million in monthly support from her ex and $6.5 million for attorney fees.
Dre was paying up $378,000 a month to Young and previously claimed her request was excessive.
“I have made it very clear to her by my words and actions that I want our dissolution to be amicable and for her to feel comfortable and respected,” he said.
Dre amassed his millions in the entertainment industry as co-owner of Death Row Records and founder and chief executive of Aftermath Entertainment and Beats Electronics, which he sold to Apple in 2014 for more than $4 billion.
The couple share two children together, son Truice, 24, and daughter, Truly, who is 20-years-old.
It comes amid fears for the 55-year-old after he was admitted to hospital following a reported brain aneurysm.
Dre has since said he is “doing great” and hopes to be “back home soon” after receiving treatment at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles.
“Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes,” he wrote on Instagram.
“I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team.”
