UPDATE: Armie Hammer has debunked the rumour of his casting, stating: “No one who can actually give me the job has asked me if I’m interested. I don’t even know if they are done – they are still working on a script. I don’t think that they are close to production but I can conclusively tell you that no one has checked my availability, which is a bummer.”

So, this is my ideal casting. Well, this or Jon Hamm. But word is that Armie Hammer (of “Call Me By Your Name” and “The Social Network” fame) is in final talks to take the reigns as the new Batman, for the Matt Reeves film due out in 2021.
Recently, Ben Affleck confirmed that he has hung up his cape for the last time, leaving a giant bat-sized hole in the Justice League group for a new hero to take over.
Interestingly, Hammer was cast as the Caped Crusader back in 2007 for George Miller’s “Justice League: Mortal”, alongside D.J. Cotrona and Adam Brody, before the project fell apart. Now it seems that the actor will get a second shot at the role, if the deal comes through.
