Vermont Gov. Phil Scott and administration officials will hold a pandemic briefing Tuesday morning.

Vermont’s next phase of the COVID-19 vaccination rollout begins Tuesday. Starting at 8:15 a.m., Vermonters who are 70 years old or older can sign up to get vaccinated. You’re encouraged to sign up online and can make an online account ahead of time. There is a call center as well and they anticipate it will be pretty busy. The number to the call center is 855-722-7878.

Registrations for previously eligible groups will continue and you’re not locked out if you’re in the 75-plus category. Vermont state leaders say the pace of vaccinations is going faster than expected and they hope to open the 65-plus age group in the coming weeks.

Also Tuesday, we expect an update on the latest state modeling and an update on the variant strains first detected in Burlington last week.

As of Monday, Vermont health officials reported 126 new coronavirus cases for a total of 13,862. There have been a total of 190 deaths. The state’s percent positive seven-day average is 1.7%. A total of 318,872 people have been tested, 193 travelers are being monitored, 13,107 have completed monitoring, and 10,798 have recovered.
