People seeking a covid-19 vaccination can get one Wednesday through a Giant Eagle-sponsored clinic at Heinz Field.
Dick Roberts, spokesman for the O’Hara-based company, said appointments remain available at the event from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Giant Eagle partnered with Pittsburgh Public Schools for the clinic, with a specific goal of offering vaccinations to students, staff and the district community, though it is also open to the public.
“All covid-19 vaccines currently available in the United States have been shown to be safe and effective at preventing (the virus),” Roberts said. “By partnering with Pittsburgh Public Schools to administer the vaccine to school students, teachers and the general public, everyone may be able to start doing some things that they stopped doing because of the pandemic.”
Technicians at the Heinz Field clinic will be doling out the Pfizer two-dose vaccine. Anyone age 16 or older is eligible.
Appointments are required and can be made at gianteagle.com/covidvaccine.
