The couple married in a lavish ceremony on May 19 at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle in front of members of the Royal Family, friends and A-list stars.
Bookies are odds-on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will announce they are becoming parents this year.
Ladbrokes make it a 4/6 chance the newlyweds will announce they are expecting their first child in 2018.
And it’s 1/5 the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will become a mum and dad by the end of 2019.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Royal fans would love for Harry and Meghan to become parents sooner rather than later, should they be lucky enough to start a family.”
Coral’s odds are 4-6 for a 2018 birth, 1-4 for 2019 and 6-4 for 2020 or later.
In a televised interview aired shortly after the couple announced their engagement, the couple spoke about when they will start a family.
When interviewer Mishal Husain asked Prince Harry about children, he replied: “Not currently no. No, of course, you know I think one step at a time.
“Hopefully, we’ll start a family in the near future.”
Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle, has added to the speculation the couple could announce they are expecting a baby shortly by telling Good Morning Britain his daughter has “wanted kids for a long time.”
He told the programme: “She’s wanted children for a long time and when she met Harry and she spoke about how much she loves him, there’s got to be a child in the making, somewhere soon.
“I don’t think the stork has hit the air soon but I think it will happen soon.”
“As long as they’re happy and they have a great life and have some beautiful children and do good things in the world, I can’t ask for more.”
The 73-year-old revealed to GMB his daughter was disappointed when he said he would not be attending the wedding and said he watched the wedding from California, where he was recovering from heart surgery.
In the interview he said: “They were disappointed. Meghan cried, I’m sure, and they both said ‘Take care of yourself, we are really worried about you’.”
He added: “I absolutely wanted to walk my daughter down the aisle.”
But he said he was “honoured” Prince Charles took on the job of walking Meghan down the aisle instead of himself.
The retired TV lighting director confessed he cried as he watched the royal ceremony on television, describing his daughter as “beautiful” and that it was “incredible watching her.”
If Meghan and Harry do have children they will not assume the title of prince, princess and his/her royal highness.
This is because this title is reserved for children or grandchildren of the monarch.
However if Prince Charles assumes the throne before Meghan gives birth, then their children will receive a prince or princess title as their grandfather would be king.
If not, they will be given lord or lady titles.
