The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will conduct their first overseas trip as a married couple “at the request of Her Majesty’s Government”.
Kensington Palace said in a statement: “The Duke and Duchess are looking forward to learning more about Ireland’s history and experiencing its rich culture, as well as meeting the people who are shaping the country’s future.”
Full details of the newlyweds’ visit are expected to be announced soon.
Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall spent four days in Ireland last week with Camilla removing her shoes for a sandy walk along Derrynane strand.
The pair were warmly welcomed while a previous visit from the Queen in 2011 also went down well.

Meghan and Harry will make a two-day trip to Ireland from Tuesday, July 10 to Wednesday, July 11.
The city’s traders said the pair can expect a warm welcome as the visit gives Ireland a tourism boost.
Flower sellers Beatrice Donovan and Tina Dempsey, who described Meghan as “just beautiful”, said many people would turn out to see them.
Ms Donovan said: ”I’d love to see them on Grafton Street, hopefully he’ll come over and throw a few pounds in the box, then I can retire.
“I’ll enjoy all the excitement, I’ll not go to see them but if they come to me, I’d love to get a chat with them.
“I could have a joke with him, he’s that sort of person, I think he could take a bit of slagging.”
Ms Dempsey added: “He’s lovely, it’s a great thing he is coming to Dublin, I think there will be a big turn-out for him and Meghan.
“It will be a great day for the city, I’d say a lot of Irish will come out to see them.
“They seem like a lovely couple, just a normal couple, and so in love.”
Meghan has already been turning heads at summer events, making her Royal Ascot debut in an eye-catching monochrome Philip Treacy hat on Tuesday.
The Duchess and Harry were joined by Prince Edward and his wife for the traditional procession around the racecourse by horse-drawn carriage.
They were cheered on by thousands of people watching from the stands.

Meghan and Harry have now been married for one month, having tied the knot on May 19, 2018.
Their nuptials at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, were watched by millions around the world.
