Prince Louis was christened in The Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace last week in an intimate ceremony with the Duke and Duchess’ immediate family and close friends.
The photos were taken in the historic Morning Room at Clarence House and just behind Prince Harry is a portrait of the Queen.
The 92-year-old monarch’s portrait is of her in her young years wearing blue.
Coincidently or deliberately, Princess Charlotte, Prince George, Carole and Pippa Middleton, Princes Charles, Prince William, Prince Harry, James Matthews and James Middleton were all wearing blue in some fashion.
The Duchesses of Cambridge, Cornwall and Prince Louis wore neutral tones in white and cream and Duchess of Sussex chose an olive green outfit.
The Queen was at Prince Georges’s christening and was in the official christening photographs that were also taken in the Morning Room.
However, the angle of the photos were different and her portrait was not visible.
It looks like a clear nod to the Queen after she did not attend the christening of her third great-grandchild.
When it was announced that the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh would not attend the ceremony many speculated it was related to Prince Philip’s health.
Buckingham Palace confirmed the decision was made “some time ago”.
Prince Louis’ christening was the newest royal’s first official appearance since Kate showed him to the world on the steps of the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in London on April 23.
It was also the first time the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were seen together as a family of five.
Kensington Palace released four official portraits from that special day.
