The royal bride-to-be gets called ‘Euge’ by her sister Princess Beatrice and the pair revealed that they call their mother Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, ‘Mumsie’ for short.

When Ms Ferguson’s letter of congratulations to Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank following their engagement was published in HELLO! earlier this year, she signed off the message using the names “Mumsie and Sarahs”.

The letter to the pair said: “Thank you for always making my day brighter and the laughter and happiness you bring to Papa, Beatrice and myself. The York family embraces the magic of Jack totally. Exciting times ahead.

“It is wonderful to see and be part of such great and happy news. Love you both Mumsie and Sarahs”.

The Duchess of York clearly has a very close relationship with both of her daughters and recent interviews show that she is very excited for her daughter to tie the knot in October.

The 58-year-old has a difficult relationship with members of the royal family following the series of scandals that engulfed the family when she had an affair with a Texan billionaire 1992, John Bryan.

Princess Eugenie has announced that her sister Beatrice will be the maid of honour at her wedding ceremony and has also said that the wedding will have a ‘zero-plastic policy’.

Mr Brooksbank who has been going out with Eugenie for seven years proposed to her in Nicaragua.

Speaking on The One Show of the special moment it happened, she said: “The lake was so beautiful, it was a special light and I even said, ‘This is an incredible moment’ and then he popped the question, which was really surprising even though we had been together seven years.

“It was the perfect moment because we knew it was going to end up this way.”

Ms Ferguson’s recent appearance on The One Show showed that the mother of the princesses has clearly lost weight.

The Duchess of York is reported to be very involved in the wedding plans, helping her daughter prepare for her big day.

Talking on BBC’s the One Show, Sarah was asked by presenters Michael Ball and Alex Jones how she felt about the prospect of becoming a grandmother.

She replied by revealing she feels “excellent”, and is also planning on being the “best” mother-in-law to Eugenie’s fiancee Jack.
