Ms Windsor is the only goddaughter of the bride, Princess Eugenie.
While it is yet to be confirmed by the Palace, it is expected she will be one of the bridesmaids, along with Princess Charlotte.
Ms Windsor is the daughter of Lord Freddie Windsor, the son of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, and actress Sophie Winkleman.
She is also a classmate of Prince George, with the pair both attending Thomas’s Battersea in London.
Ms Winkleman told Hello magazine that Prince George and her daughter had “got on very well”.
She explained: “We were invited to tea at Kensington Palace just before Princess Charlotte was born.
“Maud and George got on very well.
“He is a very clever, articulate little boy and was speaking long before other toddlers his age.”
Princess Eugenie is due to marry 32-year-old Jack Brooksbank, who has worked in hospitality.
The pair met in Switzerland and started dating seven years ago, maintaining their relationship while Princess Eugenie was briefly based in New York.
The wedding will take place on October 12 in St George’s Capel in Windsor.
This is the same venue where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot in May.
Princess Eugenie’s older sister, Princess Beatrice, is rumoured to be maid of honour at the service.
Both Prince Andrew and the Duchess of York have welcomed their daughter’s engagement to Mr Brooksbank.
Prince Andrew said he is “absolutely overjoyed” and described Mr Brooksbank as “an absolutely outstanding young man”.
On the day of their engagement the Duchess of York posted a photo of the couple with the caption: “Total joy.”
