On Friday, the Duchess of Cambridge took George, three, to watch his father, Prince William, shoot down the birds in the hills, in the prince’s first ever experience watching his older relatives grouse shooting.
They then joined the Queen, Prince Charles, Prince Edward, Sophie the Countess of Wessex, and their children, Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn for lunch later in the afternoon.
Princess Anne, Zara and Mike Tindall were also present, joining the members of the royal family for a Friday lunch.
The Queen, 92, was spotted driving herself to the venue in a Range Rover.
Prince George is due to head back to school soon next month, officially starting Year 1at Thomas’s Battersea.
George, who is third-in-line to the throne, will be taking classes in science, English and history and also religious studies where students will read the Bible as well as learn to appreciate the cultural differences in Britain.
The young prince will also be brushing up on his French, with 35 minutes classes language classes week.
The class involves a hands-on curriculum with songs, stories, puppets and fairytales – which are all spoken in French.
The £17,604-a-year school also offers one compulsory subject that is hardly seen in schools across Britain.
George will participate in 35-minute weekly ballet classes, with a real live piano player performing as students learn graceful ballet moves.
The young royal will also attend conventional math classes and learn addition, subtraction and fractions.
It is unclear whether George’s mother, Kate, will accompany him to school on his first day.
Last year, only Prince William was seen ushering his young son to school, who looked nervous on the day as he walked his first steps in Thomas’s Battersea.
At the time, the Duchess of Cambridge was pregnant with Prince Louis and battled morning sickness so, was unable to attend her son’s big day.
However, just a day after giving birth to Prince Louis, Kate was seen bringing George to school, according to royal correspondent Rebecca English.
She previously said: “The couple have made a point of doing the school run themselves as much as possible.
“Kate was seen dropping off her son the morning after she gave birth to her third child, Prince Louis.”
