The upcoming royal marriage of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank on October 19 will see another of the Queen’s grandchildren start their married life.

Following Harry and Meghan, Eugenie will marry Mr Brooksbank, UK ambassador for George Clooney’s tequila brand Casamigos, in a ceremony at St George’s Hall, Windsor Castle.

Mr Brooksbank will be the second commoner to join the Royal Family this year – but he does have links to the Brooksbank Baronets.

And the bride’s parents Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are already eager to welcome him into the family.

Will Jack Brooksbank receive a royal title?

Despite his royal links, Mr Brooksbank is not slated to obtain a royal title, but the Queen could decide to give him one on his wedding day as a gift.

James Brookes, drector of broadcasting and communications for Royal Central says it could be possible Mr Brooksbank is given a last-second title.

He says: “Eugenie and her sister Beatrice are styled as Princesses and so it wouldn’t be unusual if The Queen offered Jack a title – most likely an Earldom.

“Of course, it’s down to personal choice as to whether he accepts it.

“Princess Anne’s first husband Mark Phillips turned down a title it’s thought, hence why Zara and Peter don’t have one of their own.”

According to Mr Brookes, should the couple later have children, the title could then be passed on.

He continues: “If Jack was to accept a title – an Earldom, for example’s sake – he would likely be known as The Right Honourable The Earl of […]”

“Any children the couple have would take on subsidiary titles, a son known as Viscount and daughter, Lady.

“As is custom, we’ll likely find out on the morning of the wedding as to whether any titles have been granted/accepted.”

Will Jack Brooksbank and Eugenie’s royal duties change?

It seems entirely possible that the Princess and Mr Brooksbank’s duties could change after he joins the Royal Family.

But as Eugenie is not classed as a ‘working royal’ the couple likely won’t change much.

Mr Brookes says: “It’s unlikely that we’ll see Jack performing a major royal role like William and Kate or Harry and Meghan.

“While they might not be in the spotlight as much as their royal cousins, it’s still likely that we’ll see the couple at the big events in the royal calendar – Trooping the Colour, Royal Ascot, and the Christmas Day church services.”

So, while we may see more of Eugenie and Jack together more often, this is unlikely to be in an official capacity.
