Kate and William’s second child made hearts melt as she walked into the Royal Chapel at St James’ Palace, holding her father’s hand.

As she tottered up to the entrance, holding an order of service, she said to photographers: “You’re not coming.”

She kept at watchful eye on the press pack as she walked in her staple blue and white dress with a headband and white socks with blue buckle shoes.

She was also seen waving before shaking hands with the Archbishop of Canterbury, who carried out the service.

She was encouraged by Prince William before he told her ‘Well done’.

She also shook hands with The Dean of The Chapel Royal, The Right Reverend and Right Honourable the Lord Chartres before disappearing inside for the private ceremony.

Her brother Prince George was holding their father’s other hand, with Kate carrying a sleeping Prince Louis.

Prince Louis was christened in an intimate ceremony attended by close friends and family as well as his six godparents.

Pippa Middleton was seen with her growing baby bump as she arrived alongside husband James Matthews.

Prince Harry and Meghan were also in appearance, along with Kate’s parents Carole and Michael Middleton.

Kate and Pippa’s cousin Lucy Middleton was named as a godparent, as well as William’s friends Nicholas van Cutsem, Guy Pelly, Harry Aubrey-Fletcher. Lady Laura Meade also made the list following on from her husband, James Meade, who is Princess Charlotte’s godfather.

Hannah Carter is also a godmother to Prince Louis. She is friends with Kate from their school days at Marlborough College.

After the small service, guests were served slices of fruit cake from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding cake.

The Queen and Prince Philip missed the ceremony, with the Queen having just returned from Scotland and having a busy week ahead.

Today she will watch an RAF flypast with Prince Charles, Camilla, Prince William, Prince Harry and Meghan.

The event will celebrate 100 years of the RAF.
