Photos from Princess Charlotte’s baby brother’s christening last week have sent social media users into a frenzy over her similarities with Princess Diana.
This week, royal watchers took to Instagram to comment on the uncanny resemblance between the three-year-old and Prince William’s mother when she was a child.
A fan wrote on Loveprincessdiana’s Instagram account: “I have been saying – for a while now – that Charlotte is going to look a lot more like Diana than anyone thinks.”
Another follower commented on a split image of Charlotte at last week’s royal occasion and an old photo of Diana as a child: “Princess Charlotte is so like her Grandma Princess Diana.
“She is so beautiful.”
The edit shows the pair side by side – both smiling with pursed lips.
Another royal fan added: “Charlotte is her mini me.”
One user said: “The lips and the way she is smiling is similar to Diana.”
But other fans were quick to highlight her likeness to her great-grandmother, the Queen.
One follower said: “No Diana had bigger eyes and a bigger head. Charlotte is almost the mirror of a young Queen Elizabeth II.”
Charlotte was pictured staring fondly at her baby brother in a family portrait after Prince Louis was christened in The Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace last week.
The intimate ceremony was attended by the Duke and Duchess’ immediate family and close friends, and was Prince Louis’ first official appearance since Kate showed him to the world on the steps of the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in London on April 23.
The royal event was also the first time the Cambridges were seen together in public as a family of five.
