In adorable footage filmed in the wake of their engagement announcement in 2010, a handsome Prince William pokes fun of their funny sides, telling a whopping 5.7 million fans that his bride’s is “naughty” while his is “dirty”.
In unearthed footage from ITV News, he tells interviewer Tom Bradby: “She’s got a really naughty sense of humour which really helps me because I’ve got a really dirty sense of humour so it was good fun, we had a really good laugh, and then things happened.”
His remarks trigger an eruption of giggles from Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, who is sat next to her husband-to-be during the 17-minute long video that attracted a flurry of remarks when it was uploaded onto YouTube.
One commenter said: “William is like the perfect man. Handsome, smart, well educated, humble, with a great sense of humour (I can sense something a bit dark) and well…he´s a Prince. What else can you ask for really! Lucky Kate!”
Another added: “The way he looks at her makes me melt.”
Others were quick to pick up on Prince William’s mannerisms, which many said bore a striking resemblance to his mother, the late Princess Diana, who was killed in a car crash in Paris in 1997.
The young prince was 15 at the time, while his brother, Prince Harry, was 12.
One commenter said: “He has mannerisms like his mother. The looking up and rolling the eyes thing while talking and smiling, is trademark Diana.”
Another said: “His expression, that smirk! the way he looks at her! DIANA!!”
Another commenter added: “The way William tilts his head a lil to the side and rolls his eyes each time he starts talking, gosh, reminds me of Diana! Like Mom, like son!”
The footage also sees the prince speak about his romantic proposal to her, which took place in Kenya after the couple met at St Andrew’s University.
He said: “We had been talking about marriage for a while so it wasn’t a massively big surprise but I took her out somewhere nice in Kenya and proposed.
“As every guy will know it takes a certain amount of motivation to get you going so I was planning it and it just felt really right in Africa an it was beautiful at the time and I had done a bit of planning to show my romantic side.”
Kate turns to the camera and said simply: “It was very romantic.”
William went on to say he her onto the ring for three weeks during the trip before finally popping the question and presenting Kate with his late mother’s sapphire ring.
He said: “It is a family ring yes, it’s my mother’s engagement ring so I thought it was quite nice as obvious she’s not going to be around to share any of the fun and excitement of it all so this is my way of keeping her close to it all.”
Kate, when prompted, showed the ring to the camera.
Next month will mark eight years since William proposed, with their engagement being announced to the public in November.
They went on to marry at a stunning ceremony in Westminster Abbey on April29, 2011.
They welcomed Prince George into the world two years later, Princess Charlotte two years after in 2015 and this April, Prince Louis.
