The gorgeous 11-week-old has his mouth wide open in a huge grin in the picture as the side angle of Kate’s face shows her face to be full of joy.
The royal baby, who is squealing in delight, has grown some fine, light hair since he was born a few months ago and his big eyes appear to be blue in colour.
Kensington Palace released four official photographs yesterday taken by celebrity photographer Matt Porteous.
The Duchess of Cambridge looks completely elated in the picture, which shows off his outfit which was a replica of the gown commissioned by Queen Victoria for the christening of her daughter, Victoria, in 1841.
Other images include a shot of Kate alone with Prince Louis in the gardens of Clarence House, as well as a group shot of both sides of Kate and William’s family, including Meghan and James Matthews, Pippa’s husband.
The private ceremony last week was held at Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace in London, using water from the River Jordan and it was the first time the Cambridges were seen together as a family of five.
Prince Louis appeared to be sleeping in his mother’s arms for the pictures having grown some fine hair since he was born.
Kate was dressed in a creamy Alexander McQueen dress with a v-neck and a Jane Taylor hat.
The gown was the same one worn by Prince George and Princess Charlotte at their own ceremonies in 2013 and 2015.
The new fifth in line to the throne was baptised an Anglican with the full name of Louis Arthur Charles of Cambridge in a private ceremony in the same chapel where Prince George was christening in October 2013.
The service was conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby who wrote on Twitter: “I’m delighted and privileged to be christening Prince Louis today – a precious child made in God’s image, just as we all are. Please join me in praying for him and his family on this special day.”
Although the Queen and Prince Philip attended Princess Charlottes’s Christening, they did not attend the ceremony for Prince Louis.
