Today will undoubtedly be spent with cake, balloons and blowing out candles as the future king is thrown a small party to mark turning five by his doting mother, Kate.

The Cambridge’s often choose to celebrate in private with members of the Royal Family and Kate’s side, the Middletons, including Carole and Michael, who run their own party planning business.

Prince George is also expected to be joined at his party by his royal cousins, including Savannah Phillips who was last month spotted playfully pushing him down a hill at the the Maserati Royal Charity Polo Trophy.

And George’s fifth birthday will be an extra special birthday because baby Prince Louis will also join his older siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte for festivities.

PRINCE GEORGE’S BIRTHDAY

The Cambridge family became five on April 23 when Kate gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Prince Louis.

Adorable snaps captured the moments before a shy Prince George, who is third in line to the throne, went to meet Louis at the Lindo Wing with his proud father, William, and little sister, Charlotte.

And the Royal Family didn’t stop growing there because just a month later George welcomed a new auntie to the firm as Meghan Markle married his uncle Harry in a beautiful Royal Wedding in May.

And George played in a leading role on the Windsor nuptials as he acted as a pageboy – in a rare moment the prince has been seen wearing long trousers in public.

Late last year the future king marked a big childhood milestone when he started prep school at Thomas’s Day School in Battersea, London.

And this month, the little prince completed his very first year at big school.

William and Kate enjoyed more than a year as man and wife before they announced they were expecting their first child.

On July 22, 2013, the world welcomed an heir to the throne – Prince George of Cambridge was born at 4.24pm, weighing 8lb 6oz as the third in line to the crown.

Prince George’s birthday celebrations begun earlier this week, with the Royal Mint released a new £5 coin in honour of the young royal.

It comes after it emerged Prince George is blissfully unaware he is the future king.

Kate and Prince William have made the decision to keep their son’s future from him as they want him to have a “normal as possible upbringing”.

This means the little prince is none the wiser he is set to follow in the footsteps of his great-grandmother the Queen, his grandfather Prince Charles and his father William, as head of state.
