The Prince of Wales, 69, grinned under his umbrella as soaking wet school children were drenched as they waited to catch a glimpse of Charles and wife, the Duchess of Cornwall.
The kids were pelted with rain as they waved Union Jack flags for a dry Charles and 70-year-old Camilla as they weaved through the crowd and down the cobbled streets of Cornwall mid-way through their tour of the beachside holiday hotspot.
Today was kicked-off with a meet and greet with the local residents and businesses as well as a stop off at the Duchy of Cornwall, a private estate established in 1337 by Edward III for his son and heir, Prince Edward.
They also met representatives from the RNLI and Fowey Gig Club, as well as veterans of the Royal British Legion on Town Quay.
Prince Charles and Camilla comically held their ears as a loud horn started off a Gig race, a boat race in which there are six oarsmen and women to a boat.
Prince Charles looked dapper in a beige suit, mauve shirt and brown shoes while Camilla opted for a blue and white embroidered dress and camel-coloured shoes.
The couple who have been married for 13 years, were featured in newborn Prince Louis’ official christening portrait released by Kensington Palace this morning.
In the stunning snap, Camilla wore a large beige hat and a white dress complimented by a pearl necklace.
Camilla’s dress was similar to new mother Kate, 36, who like her step mother-in-law opted for a frock with a plunging neckline for her son’s christening.
On Kate’s lap sleeping Louis and to her right, Charlotte in a pretty blue dress and a beaming George to her left who is sat on his father Prince William’s lap.
Prince Harry and Meghan are also in the photo with Meghan wearing a khaki dress and flat hat and her new husband looking part in a suit a turquoise tie.
Charles and Camilla are undertaking a three-day trip to Cornwall this week to promote farming, new technologies and environmental issues.
