During a period of sweltering heat, fire has been ravaging parts of the Lancashire moors as firefighters desperately scramble to quell the blaze.
Because of the risk of fire, Balmoral has banned barbecues and campfires for those visiting the estate.
It said on its Facebook page: “We have an extremely high fire risk at the moment.
“Please no barbecues or campfires on the Estate.
“Dispose of cigarettes responsibly.”
Such a decision means Prince Philip may be banned from lighting his own barbecue when he and the Queen stay at Balmoral over the summer.
The 97-year-old enjoys cooking and his barbecues during the summer have become famous in the Royal Family.
Prince Philip has designed his own barbecue for serving up tasty delights.
Sheena Stuart, the doughty housekeeper for Balmoral, iterated the Duke of Edinburgh’s desire to play the role of chef.
In a BBC1 Countryfile documentary that was aired earlier this year, she said: “The Duke, he cooks, the Queen sets up the table.
“There are no staff that come out to serve.”
Balmoral is currently open to the public until the end of this month before the Queen and Prince Philip arrive.
The estate was described as the “most beautiful place on Earth” by Princess Eugenie.
She emphasised the Queen was “most happiest” on the grounds and complemented the estate for providing “room to breathe and run”.
Princess Eugenie said: “It’s the most beautiful place on earth. I think Granny is the happiest there.
“Walks, picnics, dogs, a lot of dogs — there’s always dogs and people coming in and out all the time.
“Family-wise we’re all there, so it’s a lovely base for Granny and Grandpa to be — for us to come and see them up there where you just have room to breathe and run.”
