The Duchess of Sussex’s estranged sister has claimed that her TV producer ex had expressed extreme displeasure about his ex-wife Meghan.
Trevor Engelson, who was married to the now Duchess between 2011 and 2013, had his wedding and engagement rings sent back to him by registered post.
After a two-year marriage, the couple divorced in 2013.
Now, speaking to the Sun, Samantha shared more insight into her tell-all book – titled “In The Shadows of The Duchess”.
Her bitter sister’s latest damning comments will add to more stress caused by her father Thomas Markle’s constant interviews regarding his daughter marrying Prince Harry.
Lighting director Thomas, 74, revealed that he has not spoken to his “beloved Bean” Meghan for more than 10 weeks and says the rift is “punishment” for him staging fake paparazzi pictures before the wedding.
Samantha alleged that the TV producer had opted to stay quiet about their failed marriage to prevent a backlash from Hollywood A-listers, who were present at Meghan and Harry’s wedding in May.
In comes in light of rumours that Trevor’s plans for a TV comedy based on his real-life experiences with his former Suits star wife, although these rumours are still unconfirmed.
Samantha told the Sun: “He said he was devastated, that he felt like a piece of gum at the bottom of his shoe.
“He slammed Meg.
“I think because Meg and Harry were inviting half of Hollywood to their wedding, he didn’t want to stigmatise himself or his project knowing the political pull that it would have in the industry.
“So I think at one point he thought, “Maybe I just better lay low.”
She also revealed more details about the FOX comedy project, which she says is yet to receive the green light and move forward into production.
Samantha said: “I don’t even know if it’s going forward. We heard that execs were toying with it.
“Shared custody with the royals — that was the theme.
“I don’t think Trevor would back down on that or think it’s offensive to Meg.
“It’s not directly about her and she doesn’t have a copyright on all things royal.
“It would only offend her if Trevor shares personal details that were put into character or scripted.”
It’s not the first time Samantha Markle said she is intent on telling all, including dirt about the Markle family, when her book is published.
She revealed in July: “Everyone will just have to read it to see what really goes on in the shadows.
“My book is much more comprehensive as it definitely takes an in-depth look. (It is an) in-depth look at the unspoken dynamics through and beyond the wedding.”
She then promised readers that “opening the book and reading it puts a spotlight on the shadows.”
Samantha was branded “a little vulture” by Piers Morgan live on Good Morning Britain after she slated the new Duchess.
